A clash of titans occurred as Brazil took on Panama in the prestigious Women’s World Cup! Brazil, a nation that has given birth to countless football legends. Panama, representing Central America with an unwavering fighting spirit. Taking place in Australia, this game had some memorable moments to say the least.

A neighborhood association in Rio de Janeiro’s Vila Isabel organized the event to support the Brazilian team and encourage dialogue about female soccer participation. The game was a big success for Brazil and a sweet victory for fans of the team. Dirce Cerqueira, a Brazil fan said, “Brazil! (My heart is at) 220 volts. Oh my God. It’s really good! And to have this female fanbase, it’s even better!” (Dirce Cerqueira, 55 year-old, Cook). Another fan, Marilda Pires exclaimed.

“It was wonderful, Brazil won by a landslide. That’s it, let’s go ladies! Brazil! Brazil! Brazil!”

Overall, with great players on their team and the love of their fans the team is starting off amazingly!
