Baton Rouge Pride Fest 2021 Cancelled

Pride Month and unforgettable celebration go hand in hand. Baton Rouge is no exception. As the capital of Louisiana, it’s a hub for social awareness and activism. It’s also where the state’s stunning Pride Month celebration occurs; however, it’s looking like this year it’s going to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
In previous years, they hosted events like Drag Queen Story Time, free HIV tests, Queeritive market, resource fairs, and more. It’s safe to say that Baton Rouge had Pride Month on lock. Other events are the Business After Hours networking event for LGBTQ+ business owners and the Orphans Christmas fundraiser. Despite the cancellation, Baton Rouge is still taking steps to support the LGBTQ+ community. One example of that is their virtual Queer Conversation, which they hold every third week of each month.
Thankfully, they are already planning for Pride Fest 2022 and holding fundraisers. On June 6th, they are holding the Bad Ass BR Drag Brunch, which features five drag queen performances, DJ performances, and an appearance by Quiana Lynell. It’s unfortunate that BT Pride Fest was cancelled, but 2022 is going to be everyone’s year to shine.
