Bad Bunny Goes Full Caddie Mode in Happy Gilmore 2

Bad Bunny Goes Full Caddie Mode in Happy Gilmore 2

The legendary Happy Gilmore is back! Almost 30 years later, Adam Sandler is reviving his beloved golf comedy with Happy Gilmore 2, and the excitement is unbelievable. Netflix just released the official trailer, confirming not only Sandler’s return to the role but also some surprising new additions, including none other than Bad Bunny.

Yep, you heard that right. Benito’s hitting the golf course, swapping out stadium tours for caddie duties in what’s turning out to be one of the year’s most surprising and funny castings.

Happy Gilmore’s Back (And He’s Bringing Company)

For anyone who needs a little reminder, the 1996 original Happy Gilmore featured a struggling hockey player who finds out he’s got an incredible knack for golf and jumps into the game to save his grandma’s house. His unusual swing, hot temper, and downright chaotic energy turned the movie into an instant classic. Sandler’s portrayal of the aggressive yet endearing Happy became one of his most legendary roles.

Fast forward 29 years and Happy Gilmore 2 is back with an older (but still as unpredictable as ever) Happy. He’s diving back into the world of golf despite his age and, let’s be honest, probably not being in the best shape. But don’t write him off just yet, he’s still got that legendary swing, and he’s ready to take on a new generation of golfers.

This time around, he’s got some serious star power backing him up. The movie features Travis Kelce (yes, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend) as a bartender, and Bad Bunny stepping into the shoes of Happy’s caddie.

In the trailer, we catch a glimpse of Sandler’s Happy Gilmore watching with a mix of nervousness and awe as the younger, fitter golfers take command of the course. “I haven’t swung a club in years,” he confesses. But right there beside him, looking like the most stylish caddie ever is Bad Bunny, sporting a bowtie and ready to help out.

From the few glimpses we get in the trailer, it’s clear that Bad Bunny is bringing his usual charisma and comedic timing to the film. He’s seen attentively watching Happy’s swings, cheering him on, and, of course, creating some chaos. One moment shows him speeding across the golf course in a cart like a total maniac, while another clip captures him dramatically snapping a golf club in half over his knee.

Will Bad Bunny be good at caddying? Probably not. But is he going to be hilarious? Absolutely.

This isn’t Bad Bunny’s first time on the big screen. The reggaeton superstar has been gradually building his acting career, showing up in “Narcos: Mexico,” “Bullet Train” alongside Brad Pitt, “Fast & Furious 9,” and “My Spy.” Now, with “Happy Gilmore 2” added to his filmography, it’s clear he’s enjoying exploring different roles. And let’s be honest, seeing him in a comedy with Adam Sandler is going to be unforgettable.

Happy Gilmore 2 officially hits Netflix on July 25, 2025, nearly 30 years after the original film’s release. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the first movie or just here to see Bad Bunny cause chaos on a golf course, this is definitely one to watch.
