Bad Bunny Brings Puerto Rican Flavor to ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’
Bad Bunny took the helm at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as a co-host, turning the episode into an all-out party. From the get-go, it was obvious this wouldn’t be your run-of-the-mill night. Instead of Jimmy starting things off with his usual monologue, Bad Bunny electrified the stage by kicking off a lively Puerto Rican parranda, with musicians and even a straw hat for Jimmy to wear. The entire studio was dancing in no time.

One of the highlights of the night was a pre-recorded segment showing Bad Bunny and Jimmy in disguise with wigs and fake beards, performing in the New York City subway. They kicked things off with ‘I Want It That Way’ by the Backstreet Boys and paid homage to the city by singing Benito’s new song ‘NUEVAYoL,’ before dramatically revealing who they were. The crowd at the station went wild when Jimmy shouted, “Welcome to New York City, I’m Jimmy Fallon, this is Bad Bunny, and he’s got a new album!” The video has since gone viral.

Back in the studio, Bad Bunny sat down with Jimmy for an interview, where he talked about his new album, ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos,’ and how much it means to him. He explained, “It’s been a crazy week because we did this project with a lot of love. We weren’t expecting this. We’re in shock, and I’m very grateful that people loved this project.”
“This is one of our oldest Puerto Rican rhythms, plena, and it’s the number one song in the world right now,” he added. “I’m very proud, and grateful to the world for accepting who I am as a Puerto Rican and as a Latino, for embracing it in such a way…I was blown away!”

Bad Bunny also spoke about his upcoming residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, called ‘No me quiero ir de aquí.’ He shared, “I feel very comfortable on my island, with the people I love close to me, and I want to invite the world to Puerto Rico and have the whole experience.”
He mentioned that he’d love to have his own show someday, that he enjoys acting, especially in comedies, and that being in a movie with Adam Sandler was one of the best experiences he’s ever had. He even called him ‘Uncle Adam.’

The fun continued with Bad Bunny and Jimmy recreating a photo for the third time—a nod to Benito’s picture with Fallon’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds from back when he wasn’t yet famous and his previous visits to The Tonight Show.
Switching things up, Bad Bunny even interviewed Jimmy for a bit. Fallon reminisced about his visit to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, sharing how warmly he was welcomed. Benito took the chance to tease Jimmy with some pitorro (a strong Puerto Rican rum). Fallon nervously laughed as he took a sip, joking that he had to pace himself since the show wasn’t over yet.
As co-hosts, Bad Bunny and Fallon teamed up for interviews with actress Karla Sofía Gascón and tech YouTuber Linus Sebastian. With Karla, they shared a fun exchange in Spanish, leaving Jimmy momentarily out of the loop. When it was Linus’s turn, Bad Bunny was fascinated by the tech gadgets, including a color-changing pair of glasses that he cheekily pocketed, asking the audience to keep it on the down-low.
