Bad Bunny, adidas, and Mercedes F1 Made History in the Streets of San Juan

Bad Bunny, Adidas Originals, and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team made history in Puerto Rico with an unprecedented event that blended urban culture, speed, enthusiasm, and Puerto Rican pride. For the first time ever, an F1 racecar zoomed through the streets of San Juan, powered by three major names: Bad Bunny, the iconic sports brand, and one of the most legendary teams in the world of motorsport.

The scene was set on the Dos Hermanos bridge, in the heart of Condado, where, from early morning, hundreds of fans defied the rain to secure a prime spot and witness the showcase up close.

At exactly 9:00 a.m., the roar of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance signaled the start of the spectacle. Driving the racecar was Mexican driver Esteban Gutiérrez, the team ambassador, who covered the 700-meter stretch several times, thrilling the crowd with the engine’s sound and various maneuvers in front of the ‘snail,’ where most of the audience gathered.

“It’s an honor to be here making history. The vibe, the energy, the fans… I’ve enjoyed every minute. Thank you,” expressed Gutiérrez at the end, waving a Puerto Rican flag.

The event, driven by Bad Bunny in collaboration with adidas Originals and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1, was part of a series of exclusive experiences alongside the artist’s residency at the Coliseum of Puerto Rico, where he is performing 30 concerts under the name “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí.”

The impact was immediate: Adidas reported more than 9,000 attendees at the event, reaffirming the growing interest in Formula 1 on the island and Bad Bunny’s tremendous drawing power. But the collaboration didn’t stop there. Fans also got to enjoy an exhibition of iconic motorsport memorabilia in front of the Coliseum of Puerto Rico, including suits, boots, gloves, and items used by Mercedes team drivers.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny took the opportunity to announce his official role as a cultural ambassador for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team. This move not only reinforces his global presence in entertainment and sports but also positions Puerto Rico as a hub of world-class experiences.

The event wrapped up at Pier 10 in Puerta de Tierra, where the Cart Port event took place, celebrating local automotive culture. Attendees had the chance to meet Esteban Gutiérrez, enjoy exhibits, custom cars, and other activities that fused a passion for motors with Puerto Rican identity.

This partnership between Bad Bunny, adidas, and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 not only brought a rush of adrenaline and speed to Puerto Rico but also reaffirmed the influence of Latin culture on the world’s biggest stages.
