At-Home Facial Kit For Glowing Skin

“Your kitchen can literally be your beauty counter,” says Wellness expert Jessica Rose when demonstrating how to make your own, all-natural facial mask (that you can eat) all out of what’s in your pantry. Instead of getting an expensive facial from the spa, that’s loaded with chemicals, why not make your own at home? With our instantaneous and constant connection to social media, we are seeing beautiful-looking skin at the top of our feeds. (Which isn’t negative, however, it is important to acknowledge that social media can be overwhelming, and is not always 100% of the truth). This isn’t necessarily stopping us from wanting to achieve skin that is not only glowing naturally but in a healthy way too. If that’s you, you are in the right place.
Jessica Rose teaches us an all-natural facial kit with turmeric and Manuka honey perfect for achieving that glowing look.
Let’s get down to the basics. The first powerhouse ingredient included in our at-home face mask is turmeric. Turmeric is loaded with tons of amazing benefits. It is a natural anti-inflammatory that works as an ideal ingredient for acne-prone skin and those who struggle with hyperpigmentation in the skin. The second main ingredient is Manuka honey. It is a natural humectant that helps to draw moisture into the skin. Now you may be wondering, what’s the difference between regular honey and Manuka honey? Jessica explains that Manuka honey originates from New Zealand and it is from the natural tea tree, hence what gives it more antiseptic properties than actual honey. In addition, Manuka honey’s antibacterial properties are what make it the perfect ingredient for anti-aging as well as producing collagen and elastin in the skin for that youthful glow.
Turmeric Manuka Honey At-Home Facial Mask Recipe:
½ tablespoon of turmeric powder
1 tablespoon of Manuka honey
Instructions:
- Mix up the ingredients in a small bowl
- Apply liberally all over the face
- Leave on the skin from 20 min – to 1 hour
- Apply up to 2x a week
Things to note:
- Turmeric can stain, make sure to wear clothes you don’t care about.
- If you have fair skin, the turmeric may stain the skin. Not to worry, Jessica says with your favorite face oil, after you remove your face mask, rub all over the skin and pat dry with a warm washcloth and you are good to go!
