Ariana DeBose Gives Voice to a Princess in Disney’s ‘Wish’

“Wish” is the new Disney animation movie that comes out during Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration comes at an exciting time for many reasons. For one, we are getting a real villain back on the screen, a plain bad guy, like the old ones and the other really exciting thing is that Ariana de Bose will be playing the Princess!

The premise and the set up is beautiful; in the Kingdom of Rosas, located off of the Iberian Peninsula, a sharp witted 17-year-old girl named Asha (played by Ariana) senses a darkness that no one else does, leading to a passionate plea to the stars in a moment of need. An actual star from the sky named Star answers Asha’s wish.

But Asha is not the only one who wants that wish…Chris Pine joins the cast as King Magnifico, the villain and leader of the kingdom of Rosas. Alan Tudyk voices Asha’s pet goat Valentino, who unlike Tudyk’s other Disney animal companion roles like like Moana’s Hei-Hei and Raya and the Last Dragon’s Tuk Tuk, he does actually get to talk and seems to have a lot to say.

The film is written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn and produced by Peter Del Vecho and Juan Pablo Reyes. So as you can see Wish has Latin talent in front and behind the cameras!

The movie will premiere on November 22nd. Mark your calendar!
