Adidas x Bad Bunny Bring “The Archive” to San Juan

One more Bad Bunny activation has landed in Puerto Rico and this one’s for the sneakerheads. Starting last Wednesday, August 6, the Adidas x Bad Bunny exhibit, titled The Archive, officially opened its doors at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in San Juan.

The exhibit is a celebration of five years of collaboration between Bad Bunny and Adidas, showcasing 146 sneaker designs developed over that time. This includes 30 released models and a staggering 116 concept shoes that never made it to market. Among them is a mysterious new model called the “BadBo,” partially hidden behind foggy glass, offering only a glimpse until its official launch day.

And the best part? Entry is free. No ticket, no RSVP, just first come, first served. Visitors are granted 30 minutes to explore the timed experience, which runs through August 17. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with extended hours on Thursdays until 8 p.m.), and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Inside, visitors are greeted with a clean, minimalist gallery layout, concrete walls lined horizontally with sneakers. The space also features a wall with a powerful excerpt by Puerto Rican writer Cezanne Cordona. This immersive experience is not just a visual feast but a cultural marker of how Bad Bunny continues to define the intersection of music, fashion, and identity.

Now, let’s talk sneakers. The display covers a wide spectrum of styles, from 2022’s Forum Buckle Low in various colorways to 2025’s Adizero SL72s. The exhibit also highlights vibrant editions of the Gazelle Indoor sneakers, including new colorways inspired by Ponce (red) and Vega Baja (yellow), part of a Puerto Rico-themed “City Series.” Unreleased pairs, samples, and rare friends-and-family editions fill the rest of the space.

Many of these shoes repurpose silhouettes from the Adidas archive. The Adiracer appears in three different forms: a low, a high-top “Monaco” version, and a futuristic Adiracer GT created with Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS. The GT features a layered, mostly-black build with nods to all three collaborators.

There’s also the Caverunner and Superteam Cavehiker: chunky, sculpted shoes clearly inspired by Adidas’ YEEZY lineage, built for outdoor exploration. The GSG9 boot gets the Bad Bunny twist with an updated upper and “adidas para Bad Bunny” text near the collar.

Other standout models include the Radiante V2 (with sock-like bases and molded overlays), a new take on the Reptossage slide featuring the iconic “El Ojo” eye graphic, and the Tradi V1, which stands out with geometric linework and unique material contrasts.

Several familiar silhouettes return as well. The Forum 84 is reimagined with bold TPU overlays, while the Gazelle Indoor comes in both a light brown “Benito” edition and a golden yellow tribute to Vega Baja, set for release as a Puerto Rico exclusive. Two Response CL models make an appearance in bold color combos, and the Adizero SL72 is back with new palettes, including a Neapolitan-style colorway.

Aside from the sneakers, two apparel capsules are teased. One is a seven-piece set in collaboration with Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS, including a frayed gray jacket and pants, a navy sport jacket, tees, and a matching yellow cap and gloves. The other is an in-line Bad Bunny x Adidas capsule, featuring three matching sets in gray and navy, plus a t-shirt and socks.

Whether you’re a sneaker collector, fashion enthusiast, or just a fan of Benito’s world-building, this exhibit is a rare glimpse into the evolution of a cultural icon. With over 150 pairs on display and countless nods to Puerto Rican heritage, The Archive doesn’t just honor the past, it teases what’s next.

So, if you’re in Puerto Rico before August 17? Don’t sleep on this one.
