4tro El3mentos: Hip Hop, Identity, and Diaspora at the Cinemateca de Bogotá

On August 24, as part of Hip Hop al Parque 2025, the Cinemateca de Bogotá hosted the premiere of 4tro El3mentos, a documentary directed by Ulises Sanher and produced by Equal Media. This audiovisual work celebrates the closing of the first season of Hunters, a series broadcast exclusively on LatiNation, and paves the way for a second season that will continue to explore the voices, traditions, music, and elements that make us proud to be Latino.

4tro El3mentos is a visual journey through New York, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Bogotá—cities where Hip Hop thrives as a tool for identity, resistance, and mental health. The production also highlights the historic role of migration and diaspora in cultural expansion: before social media, it was the movement of people that carried musical genres across the globe, adapting and evolving with the local touch of each community.

The documentary features established and emerging voices such as Audry Funk (Mexico/NY), Ximbo (Mexico), Araceli Cantora (Chile), Colombian Spektra de la RimaZkirlaDeeJay AviElorik, and freestyle MCs Lit IgnisJM SernaColoso, and Rufaz. It also includes the participation of Bogotá’s Secretary of Culture, Santiago Trujillo.

The film is also a reflection of Ulises Sanher’s work as a producer and creator who has dedicated his career to elevating Latin music and culture from multiple fronts. As the director of Hunters, he has brought to the screen stories that celebrate our community’s heritage and identity; as the producer of Equal Music Sessions, he has delivered over 150 episodes showcasing emerging and established Latin talent in the United States; and as a cultural manager, he has built bridges between artists, audiences, and platforms, positioning narratives that rarely find space in mainstream media.

This premiere reflects LatiNation’s commitment to promoting and showcasing Latin culture, offering a platform and a major stage for projects that connect with our roots.

4tro El3mentos is supported by IDARTESRedBull ColombiaLa Roma RecordsSomos Fuego MusicBANG, and The Music Joint.

At a time when stories travel faster than ever, 4tro El3mentos reminds us that some narratives deserve to be told with patience, respect, and memory. On August 24th, the Cinemateca de Bogotá was not just a movie theater—it was a meeting point for those who believe that culture is not only inherited, but lived and transformed.
