Latino Alternative Storytellers
This Hispanic Heritage Month, Latino Alternative Storytellers is taking you into the field to pin the beat on Latino art and its impact across the community. Artist Kim Rose took a risk investing in a studio in Downtown Los Angeles, but it paid off as soon as she sold her first painting. Chef Alan Sanz was a good eater first; he turned that love for food into an international career. Singer Victoria La Mala was told not to blend old school Mexican styles with contemporary sounds—but that blend is what makes her so unique and powerful. Kids of Immigrants co-founder Daniel Buezo has been able to unite cultures together through apparel that embraces the word immigrant.
From pain comes beauty. From tradition comes evolution. Blending styles creates originality. Embracing love brings understanding. Latino Alternative Storytellers is your unfiltered lens into the creative process.
